'Film Distribution in Norwich'

I collected cinema listings for the weekend of the 20th and 21st of march. I answered these questions about the listings at 'Vue' and 'Cinema City.'

1)

VUE; 18

CINEMA CITY; 1

2) Select a range of three different films for each cinema. How many times is each film screened? What does this mean for audiences?

VUE;

Alice in wonderland; 10
Alice in wonderland 3D; 11
Avatar; 1
Fireman Sam:Great Fire Of Pontypandy; 2
Green Zone; 8
Green Zone (ST); 1
Hachi: A Dog's Tale; 4
Hannah Montana: The Movie; 2
I Love You Phillip Morris; 10
Leap Year; 4
Old Dogs; 9
Shutter Island; 10
The Bounty Hunter; 9
The Bounty Hunter (over 18); 1
The Crazies; 2
The Lovely Bones; 2
The Princess and the Frog; 4
The Spy Next Door; 8

Cinema City;

Four Minutes; 1

This will affect the amount of people that will go to watch the films as there are allot of films at 'vue' and all shown a numerous amount of times, wear as at cinema city there are very few films shown very few times, so there will be allot more people going to 'Vue' that weekend as they have more films, more screenings and more variety of films also.

3) Identify the total number of films in relation to the total number of screenings.

Vue; 18 films and 98 screenings in total.
Cinema City; 1 film and 1 screening.

4) Identify the % of hollywood films vs british films for each cinema that weekend.

'Vue'

Alice in wonderland - American
Avatar 2D - American
Green zone - British
The princess and the frog - American
Shutter island - American

'Cinema City'

Four minutes - German

5).What conclusions can you draw about how different audiences are catered for in your local area?

from my research i have realised that a mainstream cinema such as 'Vue' firstly shows alot more films than a independant cinema such as 'Cinema City', but not only that they also show there films alot more frequently also, this caters for a vareity of people as youcan see your chosen film at pretty much any time you would like. But if you see a film at cinema city then you will have to organise your whole day around that time.
